Academy of Islip
Welcome to CampVentures 2017!
Who is excited for an amazing summer? I know we are! This could be the first time you will be attending our Camp Ventures or you are an old friend returning. Either way, it’s time to prepare you for a fun summer. We have many new adventures planned and we are really excited to share our plans with you! We’ve made a few changes this year; taking all of our campers “favorites” into account!
With that being said – we understand summer is about fun, games, and activities… But who said we can’t incorporate learning in there, too? With Camp Ventures here at Kiddie Academy you get the best of both worlds. Camp Ventures is an all-day summer camp program that pushes the bar on excitement! Camp Ventures provides school age children time to enhance what they had learned in school, while at the same time, the program is packed with activities and field trips that spark the imagination. Camp Ventures at Kiddie Academy of Islip is a must for any child who wants to socialize with friends, have fun, and take part in exciting, new experiences!
Each day the Campers are served a nutritious and delicious breakfast and lunch as well as morning and afternoon snack. All the children have expressed their love of cooking and eating; so we dedicated two of our themed weeks, Around the World and Kids Culinary, so the children can create special snacks and/or meals! On special snack days, we have quick and easy recipes for the children to prepare. Having the children involved in making their own meals helps enrich their fine motor skills by gripping the cooking utensils and mixing different ingredients.
(For our Junior Campers) Happy Feet, the traveling soccer program, is back this year, with age appropriate classes designed for all children! Happy Feet uses nursery rhymes, songs, stories and fun games with a soccer ball to maximize motor skill development, attention, retention and language skills. As well as teaching cooperation, sharing and the ability to follow directions. They will be coming every Thursday for the entire summer to teach the children all about soccer!
Every week we will focus on a different theme designed to keep the week jam packed full of arts and crafts, games, and adventures along with enhancing each of your child’s cognitive and physical development - fine and gross motor skills. All summer long we will have our Water Play Wednesdays. On Water Play days we will have a ton of fun using our water slide and running through the cool sprinklers. We do ask that on Wednesdays each child brings in their bathing suit and towel; water shoes are recommended! Camp Ventures will be filled with one Field Trip per week on Friday’s! Please check the schedule for specific dates. All campers attending a field trip must wear their summer camp T-shirt, socks, and close toed shoes. Every child is asked to please bring in a package of wipes and an old shirt to use as a smock for our summer activities! Please, read on to learn more about all of the weekly themes and some of the activities we’ve already planned!
